In the first half of 2016, iCOOP Co-operative Institute (hereafter ICI) concentrated its efforts in commemorating its 10th anniversary. It held a commemorative symposium under the theme of “iCOOP KOREA and local community” in which introduced numerous local coops’ activities in influencing communities and published iCOOP Peoples which presented six interviews of previous iCOOP members. The book, interviewed and written by CHA Hyungseok, a reporter of weekly magazine Sisa-in, presented the experiences and stories of early iCOOP leaders in the late 1990s whose efforts became firm ground for iCOOP KOREA’s development. Especially it demonstrated the stories of overcoming crisis with the help of members and radical changes iCOOP introduced in the history of Korean coop movement.

In addition, a semiannual report series named Trends and Views was first published to help members understand current economic and consumption trends that impact our daily lives. The first edition introduced two recent trends of low-growth and 2016 consumer trends. The former investigated upcoming structural economic change in Korea while the latter dealt with prominent consumer trends in food with the keyword of “value-based consumption”.
